Fishing and Hunting Gear

All outdoors men have a love affair with their equipment.  Our gear is essential for us to get fish and game.  I love quality gear, and don't mind paying for it.  But as in many things, we get what we pay for.  Every once in a while we will get REAL value and get more than what we pay for.  Often times we pay way too much due to industry hype.  Hunting equipment is a multi-billion dollar industry, as is the recreational fishing equipment industry.  The qualities of good gear are: dependability, durability, ease of use, value, repairable, comfort, and aesthetic beauty.

Dependability:  It has to perform at the moment of truth.  You have to have confidence and trust in it.  It is proven, no gambling, it is not X, the unknown factor.  There are products out there that fall in this category and we all know it!  I'll pass the word and save new sportsmen the time and trouble.  KISS, Keep it simple, stupid!, works best for me.

Durability:  These are items that last the test of time.  Something I can buy and pass down to my children, or grand children.  I'm hard on equipment because I love to be outside in all conditions, and what I use shouldn't tear up after a couple of times in the field.

Ease of Use:

Value:  We're talking bang for the buck.  It's when you buy something and not expecting performance and then it just surprises you, and works year, after year, after year.  It when you pat yourself on the back and know you got a good deal.

Repairability:  Lets face it, guys we break stuff plain and simple.  The stuff I break, I hope it can be fixed so I can break it at a later date.  If I break it once and have to junk it, I'm not a happy camper.  Ask yourself can you fix it?  Can someone else fix it?  Are there spare parts for this thing?  I like things that can be fixed and not thrown away after an accident.

Comfort:  How does the equipment fit?  Does it match our style and our bodies?  I've got to sit motionless for 2 hours, will the equipment prevent me from doing that?  Does it feel well in your hands?  Is it ergonomic?

Aesthetic Beauty:  Some pieces are just works of art!  Some guns are just ugly, and some are just beautiful.  This is all in the eyes of the beholder.

Standing the test of time, as well as increases in value.

Value here.  Two man buddy stand for $108.  Easy to put together even a kid could do it.  Light enough to carry with easy set up.
